16 January 2009: Megan Rapinoe, with head coach Emma Hayes (left) and WPS Commissioner Tonya Antonucci (right), was taken by the Chicago Red Stars with the second overall pick. The 2009 inaugural Womens Pro Soccer (WPS) Draft was held at the Convention Center in St. Louis, Missouri in conjuction with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's annual convention.
