14 May 2006: New Jersey goaltender Martin Brodeur (30) is beaten high, glove side by a shot from Carolina's Ray Whitney (not pictured) at 7:22 of the third period. The goal gave Carolina a 3-1 lead. The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1 at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina in game five to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.
