The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 in sudden death overtime at the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina in the fifth game of their best of seven National Hockey League Eastern Conference Finals playoff series. Carolina took a three games to two lead in the series.
